     Local treatment is the process of injecting termiticide under pressure to eliminate a specific Drywood Termite colony.

• The Termiticie is injected directly into the termite channels, where the termite are living. 

• Do NOT confuse this treatment with:
• Painting or spraying the exterior portion of wood members or foaming of wall voids where Drywood Termites are not present and will never come into contact with the insecticide.
• Boric Acid is usually the pesticide used for this application
  

This treatment is gaining a lot of momentum as it is proving to be 100% effective. More than any other local treatment technique. 

• UC Davis and UC Berkeley were contracted by the state of California to perform separate studies on local treatments with different insecticides, only Termidor (with its transfer effect, see below) achieved 100% kill rates in both studies.

Transfer Effect (how it works)

• Whenever a termite ingests or touches Termidor, it can become a “carrier,” transferring Termidor to other termites it contacts. These termites, in turn, can become secondary carriers, behaving normally while they transfer Termidor to other termites they contact—and so on within the colony. Because Termidor is slow-acting, it gives individual termites ample time to transfer it to others in the population. This unique, spiraling process is called the “Transfer Effect,” and its devastating results maximize the protection of your structure.
