Don't know what section 1 item is?
- Now days all WDO (wood destroying organism) reports are sectioned reports.
- Sectioned reports are defined as a separation of section 1 and section 2 conditions evident on the date of inspection.

- Section 1 item is an active infestation or infection.
- example: Fungus (dry rot), Termites (Subterranean, Drywood & Dampwood), Beetles, etc.
- Section 2 item is a conducive condition that could lead to an active infestation or infection.

- example: Earth to wood contact, Plumbing leaks,
faulty grade, etc.
- A section 2 item can become a section 1 item, if the section 2 item is contributing to the section 1 item
- example: because of the earth to wood contact we now have subterranean termite infestation.
- example: because of the leaking plumbing we now have fungus infection (dry rot) to our studs.
There is also a section 3 & 4
- Section 3 item is an inaccessible area, area we just can not see into
- example: storage areas like garages, insulated areas like attics, interior walls & portions of subarea, etc.
- Section 4 item is a note. A note is to say I see it and it does not qualify for a section 1 or 2 item.
- example: Termite infestation that has already been treated, a broken wood member not caused by a wood destroying organism, a cause of a water stain already corrected. etc
